The Problem

A Senior Responsible officer for the forces top priority, in-house end-to-end programme wanted to reduce the risk of programme failure. Recognising that this would be the most transformative change for the force in some time, they were seeking an independent, expert advisory service to guide and reassure throughout the programme's lifecycle, thereby ensuring successful delivery.

How We Helped

Larsen conducted an initial assurance review with recommendations to ensure the programme was on a strong footing.  We subsequently supported programme boards, imparting challenges and advice as a critical friend. We facilitated the introduction of tried and tested processes to the programme, working closely with in-house teams to ensure knowledge transfer.  We performed a final health check prior to go-live then supported implementation with a series of check-ins and guidance, covering areas such as reporting, risk management, training and change management.  

Outcomes

The SRO’s team successfully delivered the entire programme within the agreed timescales. Months on from the go live, Dyfed Powys were successfully tracking against a number of the key performance indicators used to measure programme outcomes such as improving quality and timeliness of investigations and improving victim satisfaction.  Crucially, our assurance allowed the SRO to maintain ownership of their programme rather than having to outsource at a much higher cost.
